Live To Find was one of the last songs I wrote for TFTC. We tried a bunch of ideas with this track, and it took us quite sometime to get it right. As far as I remember, the melody I initially had for the verse was very different from the final version you hear on TFTC.

Sweet Light is easily one of my favorite songs on TFTC. The dynamics in the song are quite aurally pleasing to listen to. And while it starts out dark and heavy, as soon as the chorus kicks in it turns into a deeply melancholic, tender melody.

Slow Motion Car Crash was by far the most difficult song I had to work on for TFTC. In all honesty for many months I had no clue what to do with it. When I got the music I was like “What the hell am I gonna do with this?” And that feeling lasted for months - I just didn’t know how I was going to approach the song.

New Songs On The Horizon

Over the past two months we’ve been holed up in our rehearsal space writing new songs. A lot of ideas are bouncing around the studio. One day I’ll bring an idea, the day after Dom will come up with a great riff or an intro, and then Martin will bring us onto another level—it’s very fresh! Gravity was really the turning point for the album. Jeff Saltzman (our producer) suggested that we needed a direction for the album, and Gravity provided the backbone for everything I wrote after. That’s when we started talking about writing songs around this fictional character and the city he lives in; it truly opened our eyes to a new dimension.
